Moreover, it actually easily out dps’s electrocute and comet due to its short cooldown (~2 s), since you can easily proc it multiple times in the timeframe that you would be waiting for electrocute/comet to come off cd (remember, even a simple AA will proc Aery).īasically, unlike the other runes, Aery changes Viktor’s trading patterns into being dependent on E’s cooldown rather than the cooldown of the rune (for optimal efficiency). Viktor’s Q doesn’t proc Avery’s shield but yes, the damage is VERY worth while.Įarly game, Aery will out base-damage FS (First Strike). If you feel like scorch is really good in some matchups go for it!
#Viktor runes Patch#
Maybe it will be better in the next patch idk, but as with everything it’s just my opinion. With the durability patch and objective bounties games last longer and it is harder to poke your opponent out of lane/ set up solo kills. Well I just think gathering is better than scorch every game. I personally like it and I stated my reasons why, you don’t have to use it if you don’t want to. You also don’t really need the extra mana from pom if you have manaflow.įor fleet as I said I think I’m the only one who uses it. If I need the the tenacity I rather go resolve secondary. Pom + tenacity is a valid combo but I very rarely use it.
I will add that.įor dcap 2nd I suggest you just go into practice tool keep in mind that in a real game you will have a dark seal with hopefully some stacks on it + gathering and most of the times a dring or absolute focus. Now that I think of it ludens might be better in lower elo’s as carries tend to have worse positioning giving you more opportunities to blow them up. It is very rare for you as a immobile mage who is supposed to be a very high threat for the enemy to be able to reach the opponents carries without dying (assuming a even fight). I disagree with not needing the most efficient dps into tanks. I would say ludens has the best single target burst, not necessarily the best single target damage. Think you undervalue Scorch a little bit (with upcoming changes to runes and pots it should also be a lot stronger).Īfter the durability change ludens became a bit weaker as it is now harder to kill people with 1 combo, team fights also tend to last longer giving more space for multiple rotations. Runes I think there are situations where PoM/ Cutdown/Tenacity 2ndary are good (imagine like, Kassadin or Sylas matchup + enemy team is tanky or has CC you need tenacity for)ĭont think a context for Fleet exists, vs shit like Xerath u just rush tier 2 boots and play First Strike IMO. Liandrys is great when youre getting to burn a lot of enemies at once or if your team is lacking anything that can do damage to the tankier units, but generally speaking, I'd say as Viktor you are not the one in your teamcomps who needs to have the most efficient dps into the enemy tanks.Īnother nitpick is that you never buy Dcap second, the scenarios where it outdamages void at those low AP values are too rare.
I'd disagree with Liandry being the default over Ludens, even into tanky units Ludens is pretty often the best single target damage (unless they have 0 MR but a lot of bonus health). Yes, dmat is a viable option, but in the cases where you could go dmat I prefer to have future’s market 100% of the time. Even in uninteractive lanes having a little bit more push power can help a lot in setting up early waves. Even for uninteractive lanes where the as rune gets outscaled I will still go the as rune as I believe runes are for the early game and are pretty useless later on anyway. However the cdr rune will be better out of lane.Įdit: I somewhat misread your question. Most of your damage comes from auto attacks early even as a mage. In the early game having an as rune is definitely better than having a cdr rune for pushing (aswell as the other things mentioned above). The as rune is very good for early laning, it helps with farming, pushing and trading. If you go double defensive runes I suppose you could maybe go adaptive instead. Yes, I always take the attack speed rune. Honestly if riot halved the ms and told no one I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t even notice it.
It is not something that is very reliable to dodge skill shots either imo, especially with the cd. It is nice to have, but I won’t ever change my choice of mythic because of the ms factor alone.
